Telewest Communications chief executive resigns

"It is believed he paid the price for having a more visionary approach when board members wanted someone to take a hands-on role.
That will now be fulfilled by Mr Burdick, who a spokeswoman said had a "detailed knowledge of the business" after six years with Telewest.
Shares in Telewest, which have lost 99% of their value in two years, closed down 11% at 2p today.
Investors face the prospect of having their stakes effectively wiped out as Liberty is likely to push for a debt-for-equity swap
