At a press conference in Syria: " Hamas' political bureau chief Khaled Meshaal, was more explicit, saying a "political rapprochement" between his movement and the Palestinian Authority was "impossible." He also accused the PA of ãnot changing policies and accepting partial solutions." "Hamas accepts continuing dialogue with Palestinian movements on the basis of intensifying the intifada," Meshaal added. Islamic Jihad leader Ramadan Abdullah Shallah also reiterated his groupâs opposition to the security plan. "We must fight against the occupation and dismantle it," he said."

And the Lebanese site goes on to say: Earlier, alarming headlines were splashed across Israeli newspapers in reaction to Wednesdayâs arrests. "This homegrown terror is so dangerous that deterrence, even brutal deterrence, needs to be created immediately" the top-selling Yediot Ahronot daily said in an article entitled "Passport to murder." "There are 200,000 non-Jews in Jerusalem. There are definitely those among them who wish to harm us, and it is clear that the terrorists who were caught are not the last," Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert told the Maariv newspaper.
