We spied some antlers in Dawley as we were looking for hair bands. Esme decided she wanted a pair. Bradley thought they were, "too girlish." So we went into Town to check on some other bits of pre-Xmas shopping and to see if there were any more antlers. We asked in every likely shop, as by then Bradley was very keen on the idea of antlers. But none were suitable. We ended back in the first shop with a pair with bells on.
To see them both running off playing reindeers and to listen to Bradley's jingling—ah, to be a kid again.
However, too many people laughed. The next day Bradley wouldn't wear his. Esme was nervous too and told me that people were laughing at her. I replied, "not laughing at, laughing with." This seemed to allay their fears and more jingling and galloping playing was had by all, plus smiles from passers-by.
Only a quick visit to the station where we saw Thomas the Tank and several other characters. Teddy and dolly come along too.
More video than pix, especially since my flash has packed in. Nevertheless, a wonderful morning when there we no rivalry, lots of co-operation. The pressies weren't hurried, rather opened, batteries added and played with. Then on to the next present. As the arose late too, 9.00am, which was much later than we'd expected, by the time the cousins came around there were still presents to un-pack.
My worry is, 'can be top this next year?' Which is a good situation to be in for a change. As last year they were disappointed with our 'educational' presents, and asked why they had these when they weren't on their list!
So this year the electronic gadgets went down a treat. Leapster, GameBoy and Video-now were all 'all consuming' toys.
Nanna's in the background.
A Spiderman skate board, and a Spiderman two wheeler scooter and all the crash protection a boy (and girl) could ask for.
Here we're off to the Hayfield in Aberaman to test them all out.
To see the horses and feed the rabbits. No trip could be complete with out this on the itinerary. They sing "I'm the king of the castle" on top of the rock. Reminded me of their Christmas Eve carol singing around my Mam's street with Charlotte their cousin, when Bradley sang, "load and proud," Esme sang quiet and Charlotte droned in the background. They manged to collect £1.70 each! Which they were very pleased with.
