Without the crackle and whine of bouncing radio off the curve of the earth. Not really radio. More internet broadcast. The choice is good, and I've found a load of new dance stations with my mac's iTunes, but just wait till there's video on demand being streamed down those broadband pipes.

Largest ISOs grab larger share of ATMs

"The research showed ISOs grew by acquiring existing contracts last year, and that few ISOs deployed significant numbers of ATMs at new sites.
This year EFunds Corp., a debit transaction processor based in Scottsdale, Ariz., became the nation's leading turn-key operator of non-bank ATMs. In the past year the company scooped up three ATM ISOs (Access Cash, Hanco and Samsar), giving it 12,000 ATMs operating in retail locations. Last year it had none.
."

So, if Hanco sold out in the US, is that what they plan to do here in the UK?

Esso moves to install ATMs in store forecourts

"DUBLIN, Ireland -- Petrol provider Esso Ireland is in discussions with three Ireland ATM service providers about installing their machines in the company's store forecourts. According to Business & Finance, Esso wants to install the ATMs by August.

The forecourt-based ATM industry is well established in Britain, where most facilities charge substantial transaction fees. However, Esso said it hopes it won't have to charge its Irish customers"

ATMmarketplace: At ATMs, ubiquity sells: "Are there any c-stores today without an ATM? Maybe a few - but they are the exception, not the rule. I react the same way to a c-store without an ATM as I do to an airport without a Starbucks -- with barely contained annoyance."

ABS Anchor: "A man was recently caught on film stealing an ATM machine. Basically, he rammed his shoulder into it, the machine fell over, and he carried it out. The whole process took about three minutes. Being the owner of ATM machines, I wanted to find a way to keep my ATMs safe. Nice sounding product. I wonder if the ATM deployers in the UK are using these bolts?

touchpoints: "Here in the UK there is a new crime spree taking place at ATMs. The criminals normally work in pairs and whilst one distracts the customer using the machine, the other steals the card as it is being returned. When the customer turns back to the machine they are mistakenly tricked into believing the card has been retained by the machine and report it as retained not stolen. "

A very rare crime this. But you should contact your bank as well as the police. And, BTW this is much, much less common with ATMs in stores.
