Using a three column grid that contracts by sliding under the far right column for smaller screens, these designs will mainly use one larger image, the other templates for internal pages will be much smaller in size and drama.
The mini icons for the dayArchive and others will be added at the last minute.
Ignore the text and it's layout, it's just overlaid form an existing site for context, visual help.

These should be closer to our goal.

Third, shocking pink
A smaller image, and coloured buttons. This is a variation of below (because I liked below). With clouds in background, and wilder singing typography. The 'OM' would actually be at the foot of the page.
This definitely my favourite. Still need a nicer scan of illustration, some tightening of everything. It looks explosive! Yet, clean, professional.

Third, more white
Less rainbow colours.
This is my second favourite.

Second, shocking pink
One big image, with panels floating on top. Buttons on top of the middle column. Dramatic, and flowiing, with the mantra swinging through the dancers.
My third fav.

Second (B), royal purple

First, pink
Using the mantra instead of the coca-cola curve, with an added rainbow. Perhaps the buttons are too cluncky and should be softer more tactile, particularly the graphic behind the day template and used as headings on the right. These could be wood or even stone work. Something solid, something real, rather than electronically created buttons. Or they could be clouds, star scapes. Water colours of lotus sceens.

First (B), pink
Added some drop shadow to the ISCKON logo. Perhaps I should make it bigger. I could do more, like outline it to make it stronger. Only a bit worried about messing with the corporate identity, so to speak. Taken out distractive image of dance lower left. Added 'Movement' to Hare Krishna title. Took off buttons and red bars for headings and softened to just a plain colour. Cut off canters with OM. Increased visibility and size as well as changed colour of mantra on Lord Caitanya's chest.
