I couldn't believe how old she looked in this outfit. She really, really liked this nurses costume, and the doctor's trolley.

Pity we couldn't take many pictures, the room was too dark, and there's no flash on the camera. Here the two are waving to the camera. Esme started and, of course, Bradley copied Esme.

Esme's birthday started at 7:30am. They both came into our room. I was still half asleep, but Amanda rushed down stairs to get the camera so that she could capture Esme's face as she walked into the room. She'd spent ages planning this moment: presents, wrapping presents, balloons, laying out balloons and presents.
