"Jane Hardman, who formerly worked at heavyweight City PR firm Brunswick, is expected to take over as head of Telewest's in-house public relations team.

However, the company's deepening debts prompted the ousting of Mr Singer on Wednesday. Telewest insiders said it was inevitable Murray would leave shortly afterwards. "
