War & politics: Sept 11th, bin Laden, Middle East news, from my own perspective.
""O Allah, destroy the usurper Jews and the vile Christians"
This is already a generational war. It has been so for 50 years, though not here nor in the US. Children are still being taught to hate Jews and Christians, to hate the West's civilisation.
These people will come at us, in any way they can. Especially using WMD. They see themselves as having God on their side.
If we want to survive, if we want our civilisation to survive, we must look back into history, and see that brutal repression doesn't work against 'freedom fighters.' The Saudis know this. They're trying to balance themselves between being world leaders and their own Jew and Christian hating public.
Nukes to take out Saddam and Assad. And big bloody walls to keep them out. There shouldn't be a land invasion, certainly not an occupying force to try and bring education or knowledge. Let them work it out for themselves, and any sign of WMD and bang!
The Real IRA's bombing of Omagh. Both the Irish and British Governments know who did it, but lack the evidence. It shouldn't matter. We should kill them and their families. These are not freedom fighters, they are murderers and will not stop. Yet there are still people who believe this attack that killed 29 people was/is justified. Well then, to blow up their houses and kill their families should also be justified.
We must end the point of terrorism. Brutal, massive retribution. And encourage freedom of debate and thought, harmony in religion and so on. If the Arab peoples don't want to go for it fine, just stay behind this wall and enjoy.

The German ambassador to Washington, Wolfgang Ischinger, told ABCNEWS: The United States must answer many questions, he said. "If military force is used, what kind of exit strategy would we have? How long would U.S. and possibly allied forces need to stay in the region? Would we get bogged down for the next decade with an unresolved question of instability in Iraq?"
It's already a generational war.

Iraq accuses US of terrorising world
""By announcing its hostility to Iraq under false pretexts, America is seeking to camouflage the truth and use the Iraqi issue to terrorise the world and force it to bend to its wishes," the party's Ath Thawra newspaper said.
"A US attack against Iraq will be the prelude of a fragile new order in the region in which Arabs and Muslims will gravitate in the orbit of a strong Zionist entity," the paper warned.
Still denying WMDs. And trying to call in friends. Looks like anytime soon, they'll be attacked. Stealth bombers at night.

"Now, it is contemplating a far more massive military action, not simply to knock out a single installation but to change an entire society.
"The breadth of this doctrine is breathtaking, going far beyond any claim made by previous American governments. None of our military interventions since World War II has required such a wrenching revision of international law," Yale University law professor Bruce Ackerman wrote in The Washington Post on Sunday.

"If they get Iraq, God forbid, the next country in line would be Saudi Arabia or Egypt or Syria or Lebanon," he said. "Iraq is not the target, it is only the beginning of a US plan to gain hegemony over the region and control its resources.""

At a press conference in Syria: " Hamas' political bureau chief Khaled Meshaal, was more explicit, saying a "political rapprochement" between his movement and the Palestinian Authority was "impossible." He also accused the PA of ãnot changing policies and accepting partial solutions." "Hamas accepts continuing dialogue with Palestinian movements on the basis of intensifying the intifada," Meshaal added. Islamic Jihad leader Ramadan Abdullah Shallah also reiterated his groupâs opposition to the security plan. "We must fight against the occupation and dismantle it," he said."
And the Lebanese site goes on to say: Earlier, alarming headlines were splashed across Israeli newspapers in reaction to Wednesdayâs arrests. "There are 200,000 non-Jews in Jerusalem. Details of FEMA's national security role first emerged during the Reagan-era Iran-Contra scandal. Iran-Contra involved the clandestine selling of weapons to Iran, illegally using the proceeds to fund US-backed Central American insurgents, the Contras. It was an episode that led to felony convictions for some of the Reagan administration's key figures, such as John Poindexter and Elliott Abrams, both of whom are in the Bush Administration.
As one of his last acts as president, George Bush Snr pardoned those still implicated by the scandal. Others had convictions reversed.
According to the Washington Post, the creation of a US "shadow government" was also a part of the Reagan initiatives.
Sure they have the rightest of right wing plans under consideration. This better not piss of the US public. These are tight times.

"SADDAM HUSSEIN is suspected of planning to arm a Palestinian terrorist group with biological weapons to attack either American or Israeli targets.
...In the same way that Iran has funded and trained terrorist groups to carry out attacks from Lebanon against Israel, Saddam, according to the assessment, could be banking on recruiting a Palestinian terrorist group to act on his behalf.
Analysis of US satellite imagery over the past four years has provided sufficient evidence to show what Saddam has been doing since the expulsion of the United Nations weapons inspectors in December 1998. While the Iraqi leader has pursued all elements of his weapons of mass destruction programme, he has made greatest progress in trying to ãweaponiseä his biological systems, using the mobile research laboratories to try to deceive Americaâs spy satellites...

Debka mentions covert ops too. No doubt the war is already underway, hence the smoke screen attempt of Saddam's re the letting back in of the arms inspectors.
""Rumsfeld wants to stay as far away from law enforcement as possible," said one source, who adds that, as is usual for the defense secretary, he wants "new thinking.""
DebkaFile says: "Our most credible sources confirm that the campaign is secretly marching forward - precisely according to the game plan Bush conceived and promised the American people in the speeches he delivered in September, October and November 2001. He said then that parts of the war on global terror would go forward in secret and never be known."
