U.S. Consults Industry Over Iraq Offensive

"The Bush administration has been consulting major U.S. defense firms over the feasibility of a military campaign to topple Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.

U.S. officials said President George Bush has decided to eliminate the Saddam regime in an attack that could comprise five divisions, or 200,000 soldiers. But he has not concluded either a date or specific war plan."

BBC: Washington's next diplomatic steps on Iraq

"He hinted in his speech that he still sought regime change in Iraq, referring to UN-supervised elections at some stage.

Other governments, though, are choosing to concentrate on the issue in hand.

British foreign secretary Jack Straw told the BBC that the focus now was on the dangers posed by Saddam Hussein's regime."

 

They'd better pull their finger out and get in there - fast. No more pissing about.
