Bush: 'Saddam Hussein Is a Threat to Peace'

"Sending a message to the dictator in Iraq that his only chance -- his only choice is full compliance, and the time remaining for that choice is limited."

This was Bush's error reading the auto-cue. The speech was well rehearsed, by the script writers, just like in The West Wing. But over all, he's hitting my nail on the head, I see no other way, and haven't since a month or so after the 9/11.

"All that might be required are a small container and one terrorist..."

Or one hundred terrorists in one hundred cities.

"Alliance with terrorists could allow the Iraqi regime to attack America without leaving any fingerprints."

"Bang bang, you're dead!"

"Who did that?"

" If we have to act, we will take every precaution that is possible. We will plan carefully. We will act with the full power of the United States military."

Plan? The US special forces are already in there, so much has already been done.

Unlike in '90, Fear of U.S. Defines U.N. Iraq Debate

"Diplomats here believe France, Russia and others may be willing to accept a far harsher resolution on Iraq than they would prefer in order to preserve the Security Council's relevance and their own voice."

It was always coming. Who got the highest bribes? France and Russia, late to the game or the UK - yes Sir, no Sir?

Former head of Soviet biowarfare, warns that a smallpox release by Iraq could cause a worldwide calamity of biblical proportions

"He offered his prediction: "I don't believe it's going to be a situation where, for example, the entire population of Earth would die, but what we're going to have, specifically, that the number of people who are going to suffer, the number of people who are going to die ... unfortunately, will be very, very big.""
